Class Summary

Arts & Humanities is about the five arts and how cultures from around the world use the arts. In this class we will study art, music, dance, drama, and writing. Each grade level will learn about the arts from different cultures and relate those experiences with their own culture. Each student will take a nine week course during the school year. Students will be able to hands-on create in all five arts disciplines and problem-solve through writing.

Class Supply List

Folder/ Binder (student's choice), Pencil, Paper,& Eraser is mandatory for class work. Dividers are not necessary but do help with organization of folder for grading. Pens are permissable for most class work, however, pencils are needed for art projects.

Class Expectations

Students are expected to come to class daily, prepared, and ready to participate in class. Respectful and responsible behavior is needed in order to participate in group and individual projects and class instruction. Students should be prepared each day with course work completed and prepared for examinations or class discussions.

Grading

The course in divided into several components; projects, daily work, homework, quizzes, open-responses, writing, and pre- & post common assessments.

Projects- 100 pts
Homework- 25 pts
Daily Work- varies to degree of work done
Quizzes-25pts
Open-Responses-50 pts
Writing- 100pts
Post Test-100pts
